DESCRIPTION
Wingate University is located approximately 18 miles southeast of Charlotte, North Carolina. The Wingate University School of Pharmacy opened its doors to applicants in 2002, with the charter class beginning its program of study in August 2003. The charter class will graduate from Wingate University in May 2007. The class size has been capped at 60 to assure special attention to every student.
- All Wingate University pharmacy faculty have made a commitment to excellence in the classroom; and all classes are taught by faculty possessing terminal doctoral degrees. No courses, discussions, case studies, or laboratories are taught by teaching assistants or graduate students.
- The Wingate University School of Pharmacy is in strict compliance with the accreditation guidelines of the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Admission considerations are based upon
- completion of the entrance requirements,
- prepharmacy requirement grade point average,
- math and science grade point average,
- PCAT score,
- personal interview,
- problem solving skills (demonstrated in an on-site consensus building exercise),
- on-site writing sample, and
- letters of recommendation.
Prepharmacy requirements may be taken at Wingate University or any other accredited institution in the United States. The prerequisite course work necessary to qualify a prospective student for admission consideration is as follows:

*Highly desirable but not mandated: Psychology, Sociology, Foreign Language, and Philosophy. All prepharmacy requirements must be completed by July 1 of the year in which pharmacy school enrollment is requested. Admission decisions will be made upon consideration of the course work completed by December 31 of the year prior to prospective matriculation. It is acknowledged that several requirements will be in-progress during the spring semester prior to matriculation into the School of Pharmacy. The grades for in-progress courses will not be taken into account in determination of prepharmcy grade point averages.
