Washington Pharmacy Technician Requirements

Pharmacy Technician Registration Requirements: [WAC 246-901-030]

  1. Applicant must achieve a high school diploma or a GED.
  2. Applicant must provide evidence of successfully completing a
    training program.
  3. Applicant must submit proof of HIV/AIDS training.
  4. Applicant must apply for certification from the board of
    pharmacy.

Pharmacy Technician Training Requirements

  1. Training can be completed one of two ways. [WAC 246-901-030] and [WAC 246-901-050]

    1. Formal academic program or
    2. On-the-Job Training
  2. Training must be completed at a board-approved training program which includes 520 hours of combined lecture, discussion, and testing.
  3. Of the 520 hours, at least eight hours
    must be devoted to studying Washington Pharmacy Law.
