Background

The Pharmacy Technology Training Program at Northwest Vista College is designed to provide students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required of an entry-level technician in both community and hospital pharmacy settings. This certificate program offers a comprehensive curriculum of didactic as well as hands-on experience in prescription filling, inventory packaging, patient profiling, sterile products preparation, and pharmacy calculations. Students receive academic and technical training and learn how to support pharmacists during patient consultations, counter dispensing operations, and prescription preparation. In addition, the coursework prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination. The training program at Northwest Vista College is an ASHP accredited program.
