Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Requirements
Registration
- Requirements: [CMR 247.8.02]
Applicant must be at least 18 years old. - Applicant must provide evidence of a high school diploma or
equivalent. - Applicant must not have been convicted of a crime related to
controlled substances. - Applicant must complete a board-approved training program.
- Applicant must pass a board-approved exam.
- Applicant must submit an application ($136) to the pharmacy
board.
(Training must be complete before registering as a technician.)
Training
Training can be completed one of two ways: [CMR 247.8.02]
- Enroll in a board-approved training program outlined in the
regulations.
OR - Complete 500 hours of employment as a technician trainee.
