Blessing hospital offers one semester pharmacy technician training school partnered with Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing.

Mission

Provides health care professional education for careers in emergency response; nursing; laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, respiratory and surgical technology. In response to the demand for healthcare workers, Blessing has partnered with other educational institutions on pharmacy and surgical training programs. Students receive an education which combines classroom instruction led by highly-skilled teachers with clinical experience working with Blessing staff and patients.

Pharmacy Technician Program

Pharmacy technicians assist licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Pharmacy technicians have a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and are skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, and prepare medications, but they do not need the advanced college education required of a licensed pharmacist.

Blessing Hospital, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing, and the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) sponsor a one-semester pharmacy technician education program which is one of the fastest growing fields, in terms of innovations and advancements, the medical drug industry.

Blessing Hospital partners with the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing to provide the Pharmacy Technician Course. The course may be taken for college credits for an additional fee. This course prepares the technician to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination and then seek a position in a retail or hospital-based pharmacy.
