Mission
To serve the community by building futures through learning. It is the mission of the Pharmacy Technician Program to facilitate achievement of educational goals important for the profession as part of a life-long mastery of physical, social and intellectual actualization. To achieve this, the program aspires:- To model an environment where instructors and students are perceived as co-learners and co-creators in the pedagogical process.
- To facilitate an environment in which faculty and students creatively engage one another in an ongoing dialogue concerning the future of the health care system.
- That faculty and students share a common vision of the patient as the central focus of the health care system and, consequently, dedicate themselves to the health and well-being of society and the construction of healthy systems of human relationships.

Admissions Requirements
- ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Acceptable scores on the College Placement Tests for Writing, Mathematics and Reading clearance or deficiencies removed.

WRITING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT:
- Completion of ENGL 50A and 50B with a grade of Credit or "C" or higher, or earning a score on the Writing Proficiency test sufficient for placement in ENGL 52.

MATHEMATICS PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Earn a score on the Basic Math Readiness test sufficient for placement in a course above the level of MATH 40 or
- Completion of MATH 40 with a grade of Credit or "C" or higher, or
- For other options see your counselor.

READING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- The reading proficiency requirement is demonstrated by successfully completing the Reading Proficiency Test at the 12th grade level. The Reading Proficiency Test may be taken no more than once each semester.
- The reading proficiency requirement may be met by completing READ 54 with a grade of Credit or "C" or higher.

Pharmacy Clerk Program
18 weeks Phamacy Clerk Program. The pharmacy clerk is a non-registered, technical worker who performs the minimum non-discretionary tasks as allowed by the Board of Pharmacy of the Sate of California, under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Employment in this field requires applicants to have good vision, hearing, the ability to communicate orally and the physical ability to perform tasks required of a pharmacy clerk.Features
Upon completion of the program, the student will be eligible for registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy. Students will also be prepared to take and pass the PTCB certification exam.
