Arizona Pharmacy Technician Requirements
Requirements for a technician trainee: [AZ Board Reg. R4-23-1101]
- Applicant must be of good moral character.
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- Applicant must attach a photo and copy of birth certificate to
the application. - Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicant must submit an application ($50) to the state board.
(Trainees must appeal for more time or pass a board-approved
technician certification exam)
Requirements for a certified technician:
- Meet all the requirements for a technician trainee.
- Complete a board-approved training program.
- Pass a board-approved technician examination.
Pharmacy Technician Training
Pharmacist-in-charge is responsible for administering a training
program and is responsible for maintaining records. [AZ Board Reg.
R4-23-1105] If the state requires on-the-job training, then The National
Pharmacy Technician Training Program can be incorporated into on-the-job
training
