DESCRIPTION
The University of Colorado School of Pharmacy was established in 1911 on the Boulder campus. The School's new building, located on the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center campus in Denver opened in the summer of 1992.- Accreditation of the School's programs is granted by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. The School is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
- The Pharmacy School building provides classrooms, undergraduate teaching laboratories, a student computer lab, student study rooms, a student conference room, and a reading/ study room exclusive to pharmacy students.
- Located near the base of the Rocky Mountains, the city of Denver enjoys magnificent mountain vistas.
- Denver is also within easy driving distance of some of the most spectacular scenery and ski areas in the U.S. and is a thriving center of high technology enterprises, scientific research and cultural activities.
- Apartments and small houses are located within walking distance of the Health Sciences Center campus. - Several scholarships and loans are designed specifically for students who have been enrolled in the professional program in the School of Pharmacy for one academic year.
- In addition, 14 full-tuition scholarships, including fees and books, are awarded to eligible, incoming minority students in an effort to increase minority representation in the health science fields.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
The School of Pharmacy offers an entry-level Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program. In addition, the school offers an online non-traditional Pharm.D. for individuals with a previous baccalaureate degree in pharmacy.
- Applications to the School of Pharmacy are considered only for the fall semester and the application and all transcripts must be received in the Office of Student Services by December 1 of the year prior to which admission is desired.
- All courses to be completed during the winter, spring and/or summer terms must be listed on the application and a supplementary transcript must be sent when the work is completed.
- Applications and transcripts should be sent directly to the School of Pharmacy.
- Usually, a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 is necessary to be considered for admission. Historically, the mean grade-point average of the entering class has been 3.0 and above.
- Thus, admission is selective and competitive and is dependent upon the number of applications received and the qualifications of the applicant pool.

- Because communication skills are essential in the practice of pharmacy, public speaking and English composition also are important factors in the evaluation process.
- A minimum of a "C" is required for all prepharmacy core requirements and pass/fail grades are not accepted for these courses.
- Applicants may be requested to provide course descriptions or syllabi when it is necessary to evaluate course equivalencies. Students applying for admission must provide transcripts for all foreign and U.S. higher education institutions previously attended.
- A certified English translation of transcripts originally in a foreign language must be provided. Transcripts from foreign institutions must also be evaluated by a professional evaluation service.
- For more information, contact the Office of Student Services. The English Composition and Public Speaking requirements must be completed at an English speaking college or university. The transferability and acceptance of course work fulfilling the pre-pharmacy requirements will be determined on a case by case basis.
- Credit may be granted on the basis of examinations taken through the CEEB Advanced Placement Program and the College Level Examination Program (subject examinations only).
