St. Louis College of Pharmacy is unique among colleges of pharmacy across the country because it recruits most of its students directly from high school.
- The entry-level practice degree for all students is the six-year Doctor of Pharmacy and since all six years are taught at the College, the faculty represent a broad array of disciplines, including the pharmaceutical sciences (pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacy administration), clinical sciences, liberal arts, and the basic sciences (biology, chemistry, and mathematics).
- Students can choose to enroll in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in the Pharmaceutical Sciences, which leads to careers in the pharmaceutical industry or advanced degrees in related areas of study, but which does not qualify the graduate for licensure as a pharmacist.
