Regis University - Online Pharmacy & Pharmacy Technician Degrees
DESCRIPTION
Regis University is a private Judeo-Christian university. The school was started in 1877 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, by a group of exiled Italian Jesuits. It was known as Las Vegas College but moved to Colorado in 1884. The educational attribute of Regis’ addresses Judeo-Christian principles and applies knowledge to human needs and seek to preserve the best of the human heritage. Regis University to provide value-centered undergraduate and graduate education, as well as to strengthen commitment to community service. Regis College, the undergraduate college of Regis University, serves 1,400 traditional college-aged students and the University also enrolls another 270 full-time nursing students, for a full-time, undergraduate enrollment of 1,670.
CURRICULUM
In February of 2008, the Higher Learning Commission (www.ncahlc.org) conducted an on-site visit to Regis University to perform a university-wide, comprehensive accreditation evaluation. That evaluation included the Doctor of Pharmacy degree proposed by the new School of Pharmacy. The visiting team recommended approval of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program and the school is currently awaiting notification of official authorization by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition, the School of Pharmacy is in the first stages of the application process for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
- The Regis University School of Pharmacy first class is projected to begin in the Fall 2009 start with an enrollment of approximately 50 students.
