DESCRIPTION
LECOM is a private, non-profit college located on a 20-acre campus overlooking beautiful Lake Erie offering professional programs in osteopathic medicine and pharmacy. Erie is a two-hour drive from Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh.- Erie is known for its yearround recreational activities and safe, "small city" atmosphere and "big city" amenities.
- LECOM is part of Millcreek Health System, which operates Millcreek Community Hospital, Millcreek Geriatrics, Education and Care Center and thirteen ambulatory care centers in Erie County.
- LECOM is affiliated with 79 other hospitals to provide practice sites for its students. Chartered in 1992, the medical school has grown to 1,000 students at the Erie Campus. The medical school also opened a branch campus near Bradenton, Florida in September 2004.
- The mission of the LECOM School of Pharmacy is to prepare highly qualified, ethical, and caring generalist pharmacy practitioners.
- The School provides a learning community that facilitates critical thinking, problem-solving skills and scholarship. While providing a solid background in pharmaceutical care and preparing pharmacists for all areas of practice, the LECOM School of Pharmacy program places special emphasis on primary care practice.
- The School of Pharmacy opened the doors to its inaugural class in September 2002. The class grew to 120 students over the next four years. A 150,000 square feet facility houses a large learning resource center, lecture halls, model pharmacy, compounding/sterile products laboratory, pharmaceutical care laboratory, physical assessment laboratory, computer training room, study rooms.
- The LECOM School of Pharmacy provides a nurturing environment for students' professional development and an enhanced interaction between faculty and students. Entering students agree to abide by the LECOM honor code, attendance and dress code, and must purchase a notebook computer.
- The Office of Student Affairs provides assistance with financial aid and housing. LECOM does not provide student housing. However, a sufficient number of off-campus housing options are available and conveniently located.
CURRICULUM
LECOM School of Pharmacy offers only the professional program in pharmacy. An innovative, three-year, year-round curriculum leads to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.- The professional program is structured around an outcomesbased curriculum where the integration of basic sciences, pharmacy practice, and professional experiences is emphasized.
- Students will be exposed to an early involvement with patient contact and pharmaceutical care from the first year of the curriculum. This will allow a progressive development of students' professional communication skills as well as a true appreciation of pharmaceutical care concepts. Emphasis is placed on professionalism and life-long learning.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Applications can be downloaded from the LECOM School of Pharmacy Web site. The PharmCAS application deadline is March 1. The LECOM School of Pharmacy supplemental application deadline is also March 1. To be considered for admission to the School of Pharmacy, applicants must:
- Submit an on-line application to PharmCAS;
- Complete and return the LECOM School of Pharmacy supplemental application along with application fee;
- Complete a minimum of 60 semester hours, including the following pre-professional course requirements from any accredited college or university (however, affiliation agreements have been established with several undergraduate institutions which are listed on the Web site) by the Spring term
