DESCRIPTION

Harding University College of Pharmacy proclaims as the first College of Pharmacy at a church of Christ-affiliated institution. The program is designed to meet the mission of the University to provide a quality education that will lead to an understanding and philosophy of life consistent with Christian ideals. The social aspect of Harding University - the pursuit of an education within a Christian social environment is of paramount importance to the University's mission, which is to provide an environment that both supports students and challenges them to realize their full potential.

CURRICULUM

The College of Pharmacy offers a four-year program of professional study leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The four-year professional program consists of three years comprised of a combination of didactic instruction and early pharmacy practice experiences followed by a fourth year comprised entirely of advanced pharmacy practice experiences. There is an emphasis on the integration of faith, learning and living, the development of Christian scholarship, the promotion of Christian ethics, and the promotion of citizenship within a global perspective through participation in mission efforts. The first class of students will begin in the fall 2008.

  1. Calculus-A business calculus course is NOT acceptable
  2. The economics requirement must be fulfilled with either a microeconomics or macroeconomics course
  3. Prospective pharmacy students are strongly encouraged to obtain work experience in a pharmacy setting. Recommends work experience as pharmacy technician.
  4. Personal interviews for the next entering class will begin in September. Throughout the duration of the interview process, applicants are accepted to the Doctor of Pharmacy program on a continual basis until the class has been filled; an alternate list will then be established.
